Karachi: A virus similar to the Coronavirus discovered in the UK has been revealed to have reached Karachi.Â
The Prime Minister’s Chairman, Corona Task Force Committee on Science and Technology, Dr. Ata-ur-Rehman, has stressed the need to develop vaccines at the local level to curb the growing cases of Coronavirus in the country.
In Karachi, we have also discovered a virus similar to the Coronavirus discovered in the UK, said Dr. Ata-ur-Rehman.
“Scientists around the world, especially in European countries, have observed a change in the new wave of coronavirus,” he said.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Ata-ur-Rehman revealed that more than 200 companies are currently working on vaccines to deal with the new virus.
Referring to the effectiveness of the vaccine, Dr. Ata-ur-Rehman said that it would take a long time for the vaccine to be authentic and to see its effects on the health of the people. Scientists at the university are examining the mutations of the virus.
