Old iOS and Android Phone users. Whatsapp will not work on your cell
Users of old-versions will have to update their cellphones
Karachi: WhatsApp has announced to discontinue to support old iOS and Android phones. The app will stop working itself on these phones throughout the globe, the US in particular from the first of January.
Some old smartphone models will not be able to support the messenger application on 31 December.
Devices that are not running on iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 operating systems, which also include iPhone 4 and all other old models.
So if you have iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S, updating the device to iOS 9 is all you have to do to get WhatsApp.
The users will be influenced by the decision, as some users of phones use the much older version of the OS.
The announcement can be seen on the help page of WhatsApp, which also urged and advised users to use the new operating system versions on their phones in order to enjoy all the features the app has to offer
