LAHORE: The PML-N chief Maryam Nawaz’s hearing at the National Accountability Bureau’s Lahore headquarters, which was scheduled for March 26, has been postponed (tomorrow).
The decision was made in light of NCOC recommendations against coronavirus and in the public interest, according to an anti-corruption watchdog statement released on Thursday.
The decision came after the Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed a NAB petition ordering Maryam to appear at the bureau’s Lahore office without party workers and with a maximum of two people earlier in the day.
The accountability watchdog was unable to persuade the court as to “how a court could interfere in solely political action and impose an injunction prohibiting a political party from engaging in its political activity.”
The authority stated that she would have two help staff members, each of whom may be an accountant to assist her.
