Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry laid the foundation stone of Islamabad Space Observatory. He also announced buildings in Karachi, Peshawar, and Gwadar.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the Space Observatory was held in Islamabad. Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Chairman Ruwit Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir attended the function.
In his address, the Chairman Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee said that the observatory would be of great help to the Central Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee.
Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry also announced to set up observatory centers in Karachi, Peshawar, and Gwadar.
In his address, he demanded that SPARCO be subordinated to the Ministry of Science and said that if it was not subordinated, Tosul would start the space program.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the space program was started in the 1960s but we lost our destination along the way.
