The prices of petroleum products are proposed to increase by Rs. 1 per liter and high speed diesel by Rs. 10 and a half.
Kerosene can be as expensive as five and a half rupees, the final decision will be taken tomorrow on 15 September, in consultation with the Prime Minister.
On the other hand, Chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) ruled out the possibility of a reduction in the price of natural gas.
During the briefing in the Standing Committee, Chairman OGRA said that our natural gas reserves are declining, natural gas prices cannot be reduced, petrol is the cheapest in Pakistan in the region.
The Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat met. At the meeting, OGRA ruled out a reduction in gas prices.
