KARACHI: Pakistan has been seeing a gradual decline in daily COVID-19 cases over the last two days. Nearly 2,714 fresh cases were reported on Wednesday morning as per the National Command and Operation Centre’s statistics showed.
The positivity rate, according to the NCOC’s latest stats, fell to 4.78 percent . The last time the country’s positivity rate was less than 5 percent was on July 24.
The 2,714 new corona-affected cases were emerged after 56,733 tests were conducting in the last 24 hours. This pushes the total number of cases to 1,212,809.
A slight downward trend in daily numbers has been observed, with active cases going under 80,000 for the first time since early August. The number of active corona cases currently are 77,532.
However, another 73 people have lost their lives to COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, therefore the death toll to 26,938.
The total recovered cases crossed the 1.1 million mark after 10,923 people recovered from the coronavirus in one day. Currently, some 1,108,339 patients have recovered.
