Karachi: Election commission of Pakistan disqualified Chairman PTI Imran Khan on Friday, accusing him of giving misleading information about gifts he received from foreign dignitaries.
ECP has accused Khan of declaring misinformation about presents from foreign dignitaries and proceeds from their alleged sale.
The decision was announced by a five-person commission panel under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
According to the election commission of Pakistan, the former PM received gifts like cuff links, Rolex watches and a ring.
Following the verdict, the PTI chairman called on his supporters on Friday to protest against the decision. He claimed that fundamental rights and democracy had been embezzled in Pakistan.
the ECP informed that former premier Imran Khan had been disqualified under Article 63 in the Toshakhana case.
However, Imran Khan’s Lawyers said that they will challenge this verdict in the high court.
Imran is also accused of attacking cities with mobs in the pretext of registering protests.
