Banning Trump’s Twitter Account a Mistake – Elon Musk
The owner of the Twitter tech giant, Elon Musk said that banning Donald Trump’s Twitter account was a mistake
The former president of the US, Donald Trump was banned from Twitter by the company in 2021.
Twitter believed that the ex-president was involved in inciting individuals to attack Capitol in Washington, spreading hate speech, and violent activities.
Therefore, Twitter banned Donald Trump’s account.
However, the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk suggests that Twitter back then committed a mistake by banning the account.
He said, “I’m fine with Trump not tweeting. The important thing is that Twitter correct a grave mistake in banning his account, despite no violation of the law or terms of service.”
Further he added, “Deplatforming a sitting President undermined public trust in Twitter for half of America.”
Furthermore, Elon Musk reinstated Donald Trump’s twitter account after conducting a poll on his twitter account asking the public to vote in favour or against the reinstating of Trump’s twitter.
However, Donald Trump claims that he does not want to use Twitter and is fine with his own “Trump Social” app developed by his firm.
