Renowned Poet Amjad Islam Amjad Passes Away In Lahore
It is with sadness that the literary community announces the passing of Amjad Islam Amjad, a renowned playwright and icon, in Lahore. He was 78 years old and passed away due to a heart attack.
Amjad was not just a playwright but also a poet, educator, columnist, and literary critic who left a lasting impact on Pakistan’s cultural heritage through his groundbreaking works. His plays, such as Waris, Samandur, Dehleez, Din, Raat, Waqt, Fishaar, and Inkaar, are considered classics and have touched the hearts of audiences for generations.
