Sindh Schools Closed in Several Districts Due to Heavy Rainfall

Sindh government has decided to close schools in several districts due to heavy rainfall. However schools in Karachi will remain open.

In Mirpurkhas, schools will be closed on August 29 and 30. In Jamshoro, all educational institutions will remain shut from August 29 to 31.

The Deputy Commissioner of Sujawal has also ordered the closure of schools on Thursday because of the rain. Similarly, in Sanghar, schools will not operate on August 29 and 30.

In Tando Allahyar and Matiari, both public and private schools will be closed on Thursday, following the directives of the respective Deputy Commissioners. All schools in Hyderabad district, both government and private, will also remain closed on August 29 due to the heavy monsoon rains, as announced by the Deputy Commissioner.

This decision was made to ensure the safety of students and staff. A formal notification has been sent to all educational institutions in the district. The closure applies only to Hyderabad, where heavy rainfall has already caused significant disruption.

In Hyderabad, several areas have been hit by varying intensities of rain, resulting in a tragic incident where a child died due to a roof collapse. Authorities have taken this precautionary step to prevent further accidents and protect the community.

Meanwhile, schools in Karachi will remain open on Thursday, August 29. The notification for the closure of schools in the city’s Central District has been withdrawn.

Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, made this decision after reviewing the latest advisory from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner of the Central District had announced a holiday for schools due to heavy rain forecasts. However, after the revised advisory, the closure notification was withdrawn, and schools will operate as usual.

Parents and students should confirm class schedules and timings with their respective schools. The decision to cancel the closure was made to minimize disruptions to educational activities.
