Speaking at the White House, Biden said the U.S. is close to presenting a final proposal for a hostage and ceasefire agreement. His comments followed the recovery of six hostages’ bodies, including 23-year-old American-Israeli Hersh Goldberg-Polin, from a tunnel in Gaza.

Thousands protested outside Netanyahu’s home in Jerusalem, demanding a deal to bring hostages home. Demonstrators carried coffins draped in the Israeli flag, leading to scuffles with police and several arrests. Netanyahu rejected a full withdrawal from Gaza, insisting on “total victory” over Hamas and blaming them for failed negotiations.

Houthi Attack Oil Tankers in Red Sea

Houthi attacked the Greek-flagged oil tanker Sounion off Yemen’s coast, igniting a fire that threatened an environmental disaster. U.S. Central Command confirmed that salvage efforts are underway. The rebels also claimed responsibility for attacking the Panama-flagged Blue Lagoon I with missiles and drones. Despite the attacks, both ships managed to continue their voyages without major damage or casualties.
