Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in London for a brief stay before heading to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. He landed at Luton airport, where Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, and UK government officials warmly welcomed him.

Strong Stance of PM on Sovereignty

In his speech, he stated, “The country will not compromise on sovereignty.” He emphasized the importance of peace for prosperity, saying, “Nations progress by embracing peace. Pakistan wants peaceful relations with its neighbors, and maintaining peace is our top priority.”
PM Shehbaz highlighted Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability. “Pakistan has always played a positive role in ensuring stability in the region. Our country has made significant strides in combating terrorism and ending its threat,” he said.
He also praised the efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces. “The borders of Pakistan are symbols of peace themselves,” he declared.
The prime minister’s remarks come as he prepares to represent Pakistan on the global stage at the UN General Assembly. His message underscores Pakistan’s commitment to global peace and development while reinforcing the nation’s role in addressing critical global challenges such as climate change and regional tensions.
