Shanghai: Huawei Connect 2024 kicked off in Shanghai, focusing on the theme “Amplify Intelligence.” The three-day global event brings together industries to explore digital and AI technologies. Attendees will discuss strategies, industry development, and ecosystem building.

Eric Xu, Huawei’s Deputy Chairman and Rotating Chairman, opened the event with the keynote speech “Paving the Way for All Intelligence.” Xu emphasized that AI is the most transformative technology today. He outlined Huawei’s vision for intelligent transformation and shared the company’s strategy for advancing its “All Intelligence” approach. Huawei aims to integrate AI into all aspects of enterprise operations, helping industries evolve and thrive.

David Wang, Huawei’s Executive Director and Chairman of the ICT Infrastructure Managing Board, followed with his keynote, “Amplifying Industrial Digitalization and Intelligence.” Wang stressed how industries are rapidly embracing digital and intelligent transformation. This, he said, is creating vast opportunities for everyone. Wang also unveiled new solutions to integrate AI into industrial processes, accelerating the adoption of intelligent technologies.

Wang explained that innovation is key to success. He outlined a four-step path for industries looking to go digital and intelligent. First, they must build strong technological infrastructure. Then, they need to create new ways to close the digital divide. Lastly, ecosystem innovation will drive future growth.

One major highlight of the event was the release of the Global Digitalization Index (GDI), developed by Huawei and IDC. The GDI expands on Huawei’s previous Global Connectivity Index (GCI) and includes factors like computing, cloud, and green energy. Huawei’s research shows that every US$1 invested in ICT brings back US$8.3 to a country’s digital economy. Wang also announced Huawei’s plans for the Global Digitalization & Intelligence Index (GDII), which will soon measure the global impact of digital and intelligent technologies.

Plans for 2030

Huawei also aims to nurture talent. By 2030, the company plans to train over 10 million digital and intelligent professionals worldwide. This initiative will help industries grow and create a thriving digital ecosystem.

The company introduced a white paper, “Amplifying Industrial Digitalization and Intelligence Practice,” featuring 100 case studies from 20 industries. The paper offers guidance to industries as they transform digitally. Huawei also launched ten new digital solutions for sectors like finance, transportation, and manufacturing. These solutions aim to accelerate intelligent transformation across industries.

Huawei held a forum titled “Embracing Intelligence for a Thriving Digital Economy.” Global experts from the United Nations, industry associations, and analyst firms joined the discussion. They offered insights on building a strong digital future.

Huawei celebrated its partners’ achievements at the Global Partner Roundtable and Global Partners’ Night. The company presented the Outstanding Partner Awards 2024 to those who have made exceptional contributions.

Huawei Connect 2024 highlights Huawei’s commitment to driving digital transformation, advancing AI, and fostering a global intelligent ecosystem.
