KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration arrested eight individuals involved in traveling with fake documents and planning to beg abroad in two separate operations at Jinnah International Airport.

In the first operation, five passengers—Noori Anwar, Asia Bibi, Samina Bibi, Sakina Bibi, and Muhammad Akram—were attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia using Pakistani passports. They were booked on flights QR-611 and XY-638. During immigration clearance, authorities found their documents suspicious.

Further investigation revealed that the passengers were professional beggars planning to beg in Saudi Arabia. They failed to provide valid hotel bookings or justify their travel expenses. Consequently, authorities arrested all five individuals and handed them over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further legal action.

In a separate operation, FIA Immigration arrested three other passengers—Salman, Muhammad Nauman, and Muhammad Hussain—while they were attempting to travel to Azerbaijan with forged documents.

Muhammad Hussain carried a fake German visa stored on his mobile phone and admitted to obtaining it for Rs. 800,000. The accused revealed that they had arranged their fraudulent study visas through an agent named Asim, who is based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Both Salman and Nauman confessed to paying Rs. 300,000 each for their fake documents.

Growing Issue of Human Trafficking

These arrests highlight the growing issue of human trafficking and fraudulent travel schemes in Pakistan. The FIA’s swift actions underscore the importance of stricter surveillance at airports to curb illegal activities. The accused individuals are now in custody at the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi, where further investigations are ongoing.

This incident comes amid increasing efforts by authorities to crack down on human trafficking and the use of fake documents for illegal travel. Pakistan has seen a rise in such cases, with individuals attempting to migrate or travel abroad under false pretenses, often falling prey to exploitative agents and human traffickers.

FIA officials emphasized that they will continue to monitor airports and other entry points across the country to prevent similar incidents. The agency is working closely with international bodies to track down traffickers and agents who facilitate these illegal activities.

The recent arrests serve as a warning to those considering illegal means of travel. Authorities urged citizens to avoid dealing with unverified agents or relying on fake documentation, as the consequences can be severe, both legally and financially.

The FIA continues to investigate the broader network involved in arranging fake travel documents and visas. Agents and middlemen involved in such fraudulent schemes are being identified. Moreover, efforts are in progress to bring them to justice.

The arrests at Jinnah International Airport reflect the FIA’s commitment to tackling human trafficking and illegal travel practices. These operations are part of a larger effort to ensure the safety and integrity of Pakistan’s immigration system. Further developments in the case are expected as investigations progress.
