AI Chatbot Feature Enhances Voice Conversations

Google announced that Gemini Live, initially launched at the Pixel 9 event, is now available for all Android users at no cost. The company shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “We’re starting to roll out Gemini Live in English to more people using the Android app, free of charge.” Users can now go live to engage in discussions with Gemini, explore new topics, or brainstorm ideas.

Gemini Live offers a voice conversation feature for Google’s AI chatbot. This feature allows users to have more natural interactions with Gemini, including the use of pauses and filler words. The AI now has context retention, which means it remembers previous interactions to create more meaningful and less robotic conversations.

Each conversation will also include a text transcript, displaying the user’s prompts alongside Gemini’s responses. This feature enhances user experience by providing clarity and reference for the discussions. Additionally, Google announced that Gemini Live now supports ten new voices, further diversifying the user experience.

Previously, Gemini Live was limited to Gemini Advanced subscribers only. However, in September, Google began gradually rolling out the feature to a subset of Android users. The move to make Gemini Live accessible to all Android users aligns with Google’s commitment to improving its AI offerings and enhancing user interaction.

Overall, the launch of Gemini Live marks a significant step in making AI more accessible and interactive for everyday users. As more individuals explore this feature, Google aims to refine and enhance the capabilities of its AI chatbot to meet user needs effectively.
