Share the latest news updates

India delivered a record-breaking performance in the third and final T20I against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. Opting to bat first, Sanju Samson led the charge with a blistering century, reaching 100 off just 40 balls, marking the second-fastest century by an Indian in men’s T20Is.

Samson’s knock was backed by stellar contributions from skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who smashed 75 off 35 balls, Hardik Pandya with 47 off 18 balls, and Riyan Parag’s quickfire 34 off 13 balls. India ended their innings at an impressive 297/6, the highest score ever by a full-member team in T20I history.

Samson’s Blazing Century Propels India to Record-Breaking Total

This total surpassed Afghanistan’s 278/3 against Ireland in 2019 and India’s own previous best of 260/5 against Sri Lanka in 2017, where Rohit Sharma set the fastest T20I century by an Indian. Samson’s century included 11 fours and eight sixes, with five of those sixes coming off a single over by Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain.

India’s explosive display came close to Nepal’s record of 314/3 against Mongolia in 2023, the highest-ever T20I total. Bangladesh’s bowling attack struggled, with all bowlers conceding over 11 runs per over.

Samson’s century also marked the first time an Indian wicketkeeper reached triple figures in men’s T20I cricket, further highlighting India’s dominant batting performance.
