Former Pakistan cricket captain and star batter Babar Azam has turned 30. Fellow cricketers are showering him with birthday wishes, praising his determination and success in the sport.

This marks the first time Babar has been dropped from the national team since his white-ball debut against Zimbabwe in 2015 and his Test debut against the West Indies in 2016.
Babar rose to prominence in 2016 when he scored three consecutive centuries in an ODI series against the West Indies. Five years later, he replaced India’s Virat Kohli as the world’s number one ODI batsman, a ranking he still holds today, although he briefly lost it in between.
