Selena Gomez Opens Up About Mental Health
Selena Gomez opened up about her mental health struggles on World Mental Health Day. The singer and actress revealed details about her sleeping issues during Wondermind’s Mental Fitness Summit.
Gomez explained that she no longer sleeps in her bedroom because it brings back bad memories. “I spent too much time in my bedroom, and now I associate it with a really dark time,” she said. This led her to avoid the space entirely.
In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, Gomez discussed her complicated relationship with her bed. She shared how her mental health struggles, especially with depression, kept her in bed for long periods. “It would start with depression, then turn into isolation, and eventually, I couldn’t even leave my bed,” she recounted. Some days, she stayed in bed for weeks, finding it difficult to even walk downstairs.

Gomez also highlighted her experiences with anxiety. She admitted that anxiety had affected her ability to concentrate on her work early on. These struggles, she said, added to the challenges she faced in her career.
She has been open about her mental health journey in recent years. By sharing these personal experiences, she hopes to inspire others to prioritize their mental well-being.
