The 5th edition of TEXPO Pakistan 2024 began on 23rd October in Karachi. Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal inaugurated the event at Expo Center Karachi. Governor of KPK Faisal Karim Kundi and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also attended the opening ceremony.

Key figures such as TDAP Chief Executive Muhammad Zubair Motiwala and Secretary Sheryar Taj were present at the ribbon-cutting event, along with top business leaders from FPCCI and KCCI.

TEXPO is a flagship trade event organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Ministry of Commerce & Textile. It showcases the country’s textile sector to international buyers. This year, 573 foreign buyers from 60 countries are participating. A total of 210 exhibitors are showcasing their products, offering a comprehensive range of textiles from Pakistan.

Delegations from countries including Argentina, Netherlands, Malaysia, the UK, Italy, Colombia, and Brazil held meetings with TDAP officials. These interactions are aimed at boosting Pakistan’s textile exports and creating opportunities for Pakistani businesses.

TDAP has been promoting Pakistani textile and leather products to the international market since its inception. This year’s TEXPO also includes a fashion show featuring top Pakistani designers such as Shamaeel Ansari, Sahar Atif, and Huma Adnan. The show is designed to highlight the creativity of Pakistani designers to foreign delegates.

Additionally, sector-specific B2B meetings were arranged for foreign buyers to meet local exhibitors. Successful meetings were held between the UK delegation and FPCCI, as well as between Russian textile representatives and local associations such as PRGMEA and PHMA. Several memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed during these meetings.

The event will significantly enhance Pakistan’s image globally and stimulate economic activity, particularly in the textile export sector. TEXPO 2024 will continue for the next two days and conclude on 25th October. The final day will be open to the general public.
