FO Condemns Attack on Former CJP Qazi Faiz Isa’s Vehicle in London

Islamabad: The Foreign Office of Pakistan has condemned the recent attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s vehicle in London. Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch confirmed that Pakistan would pursue legal action against those responsible.

Addressing the media, Baloch reiterated the government’s strong stance against targeted violence, especially toward representatives of the Pakistani High Commission. She described the attack as “deeply concerning” and stressed the government’s resolve to ensure justice for Qazi Faiz Isa.

The incident occurred after Qazi Faiz Isa attended a ceremony at Middle Temple, one of London’s esteemed legal institutions. Isa was honored and elected as a bencher during the event. As he left, a group of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters staged a protest outside the venue. The protest escalated, culminating in the attack on Isa’s vehicle.

Interior Minister’s Response

Baloch highlighted that Pakistan’s Interior Minister had addressed the incident comprehensively, condemning the violence and assuring that Pakistani authorities are closely monitoring the situation. The government remains committed to protecting its officials and upholding the law.

In her briefing, Baloch also touched on several pressing international matters. She affirmed Pakistan’s desire to join BRICS, aiming to strengthen its economic partnerships globally. Addressing the Middle East conflict, she called for peace in Palestine and Lebanon and urged the global community to hold Israel accountable for alleged war crimes.

Support for Kashmir Resolution

The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s support for resolving the Kashmir dispute, advocating for a solution in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. She affirmed that Pakistan remains committed to supporting Kashmir on all international platforms.

Prime Minister Shehbaz’s Foreign Engagements

Baloch announced Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming two-day visit to Doha, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. This visit follows his participation in an investment summit in Riyadh, where he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The trip aims to strengthen Pakistan’s diplomatic and economic ties in the region.

On matters of national security, Baloch confirmed Pakistan’s stance against negotiating with terrorist groups, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). She urged the Afghan government to act against all banned organizations operating within its borders, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining domestic security.

Baloch also addressed the recent incidents involving Chinese nationals in Pakistan, assuring that Pakistan remains committed to their safety. She stressed that the government is taking additional measures to protect Chinese residents and companies in Pakistan, as part of its broader strategy to maintain security and foster international cooperation.

The Foreign Office’s statement reflects Pakistan’s firm stance on protecting its officials abroad, strengthening diplomatic ties, and addressing security challenges.
