Swabi: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur addressed a massive PTI rally near the Swabi Interchange on Saturday, where he urged PTI workers to swear an oath of commitment to the cause of their jailed leader, Imran Khan.
“I swear that I will not return until PTI founder Imran Khan is released. Regardless of the consequences, even if it costs us our lives, our struggle will continue until we achieve Haqeeqi Azadi (real freedom),” Gandapur declared passionately in his speech. His words were a call to action, emphasizing that PTI’s fight for freedom would not waver, even under extreme pressure.
Gandapur highlighted the importance of sacrifice in the quest for freedom, drawing parallels between the struggle for Pakistan’s independence and the current battle for real freedom. “Our forefathers gave up their lives for an independent state, and now we are fighting for real freedom,” he said. He added that Imran Khan would issue a call for protest in November, and the PTI would respond without hesitation. “We will not return unless our leader is released. We are not afraid of going to jail,” he vowed.
Dismisses Reports of Party Infighting
Rumors have circulated that PTI is facing internal divisions, but Gandapur quickly dismissed these claims. He asserted that all decisions within the party are made by Imran Khan and that every member submits to his leadership without question. “All decisions are taken by Imran Khan, and everyone follows them without ifs and buts,” Gandapur said, refuting speculation about infighting within the party.
Accusations Against Federal Government
Gandapur also accused the federal government of targeting PTI supporters with heavy-handed tactics. He said that the government’s actions have caused immense suffering for the party’s leaders and workers. “We must have respect for our mothers and sisters,” he said, sending a warning to the ruling parties. He further stated that the PTI would not back down, regardless of the government’s oppressive measures. “What goes around comes around,” he warned.
Preparing for Future Protests
The chief minister made it clear that PTI would continue its struggle for the release of Imran Khan. He called on all supporters to prepare for the upcoming protest and reiterated that they would not relent, even if it cost them their lives or freedom. “We will not budge, we will not relent,” Gandapur said, urging PTI supporters to stay steadfast in their mission.

Criticism of Dynastic Politics
Gandapur also criticized Pakistan’s dynastic politics, which he believes has led the country into economic and social decline. “The PTI is not a dynastic party; it’s a people’s party. We will fight and die for our rights. We will wrench back real freedom from the unrelenting hands of tyrants,” he declared. His remarks were aimed at highlighting the contrast between PTI’s leadership and that of the country’s established political dynasties.
Other PTI leaders, including opposition leader Umar Ayub Khan, voiced their full support for the party’s efforts. “Everyone will submit to the orders of the party’s founder. We must start preparations today for the call of our leader,” Khan said.
Hammad Azhar, another PTI leader, denounced the government’s actions against the party over the past two years. “We have never seen such atrocities in this country. Our patience has run out, and now we will move forward,” he said.
Election Rigging Allegations
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also spoke at the rally, criticizing the alleged rigging in the February 2024 general elections. “Today’s rally is against the mandate thieves of Swabi,” he said, referring to those who allegedly stole the vote.
Gohar also expressed concerns about recent constitutional amendments, accusing the government of undermining judicial independence. “Their constitutional amendments will be annulled by the Supreme Court,” he predicted.
International Support for Imran Khan
PTI supporters have recently celebrated the election of Donald Trump, hoping that his influence may pressure Pakistan to release Imran Khan. However, Gohar Ali Khan rejected claims that PTI was seeking foreign intervention. “PTI does not seek help from any country, including the United States,” he clarified. He also reaffirmed that despite over 200 politically motivated cases filed against Imran Khan, his supporters’ love for him remains undiminished. “Imran Khan will be released under all circumstances,” he said, expressing confidence in the judiciary.
