Brigadier General Adi Gannon confirmed the deaths on Thursday, increasing the toll from an earlier report that six soldiers had been killed in a battle on Wednesday in a southern Lebanese village.

Despite the losses, the commander of the Golani Brigade, Colonel Oren Harel, vowed that his unit would remain at the frontlines of the Israeli operation in Lebanon. “Our brigade will continue to fight as we have since the beginning of this war,” he said. Protests in Paris Against Israel’s National Football Team

In Paris, protests erupted on Thursday as pro-Palestinian groups gathered outside the stadium hosting the Nations League match between France and Israel. The protesters expressed their opposition to France’s hosting of the Israeli national football team amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Lebanon.

The rally was held just hours before the match, with demonstrators calling for solidarity with Palestine. Despite the protests, the match went ahead, with French President Emmanuel Macron in attendance. Security was tight around the stadium, and a large police presence was deployed to manage the protests.

Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militant group, has been increasing its attacks on Israel, while Israel’s military remains focused on dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure. The escalation has prompted international concern over the stability of the region and the potential for further conflict.
