Chris Hedges Criticizes U.S. Stance on Ceasefire
Political commentator and author Chris Hedges criticized the U.S. for vetoing a UN Security Council resolution on Gaza. He stated the U.S. perceives ceasefires as temporary and tied to conditions favoring Israel.
“All hostages could have been freed on October 8 [2023],” Hedges said, emphasizing that the captives were taken to push for the release of 10,000 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.
Hedges further alleged that Israel bears responsibility for the deaths of hostages who perished in Gaza. “You could make a pretty strong argument that Israel killed most of the captives who have lost their lives,” he added.
