Senator Faisal Vawda has predicted an unavoidable conviction for Imran Khan in the £190 million case, citing internal conspiracies and legal missteps. At a press conference in Karachi, the former PTI leader accused Khan of ignoring repeated warnings about the repercussions of his actions and highlighted rifts within the party as a growing concern.
Vawda’s Warnings Ignored
Vawda revealed that he had cautioned Khan about the legal consequences of approving the controversial deal. “I warned him that a case would be filed, and it would lead to a penalty and imprisonment,” Vawda stated. In conclusion he criticized the PTI leadership for delaying legal responses and spreading misinformation about the case. “Every crime carries a punishment, and no one will accept that others benefited from this decision without repercussions,” he added.
Internal Party Conspiracies
The Senator alleged that conspiracies within PTI have been brewing for years. “For over two and a half years, I warned that Khan’s relatives and close associates were plotting against him, and now these issues are becoming evident on social media,” Vawda claimed. However he warned that these betrayals could have long-lasting political implications.

Khan’s Leadership and Risks
Discussing Imran Khan’s leadership, Vawda expressed concern over the former prime minister’s perceived invincibility. “Popularity doesn’t make anyone untouchable. His life is at risk, and ironically, the biggest threat comes from his own people,” he said.
Vawda also criticized Khan’s actions during the May 9 protests, accusing him of undermining state institutions. “That day was a direct challenge to the state’s authority. I had warned that those in power were only interested in keeping him behind bars,” he said.
Calls for Transparent Leadership
Vawda emphasized the need for genuine leadership and transparent political processes. He dismissed rumors of secret negotiations between PTI and the government, stating, “There’s no room for backdoor diplomacy. Pakistan needs honest leadership and clear negotiations to move forward.”
He also called for a renewed focus on national interests, saying, “This is a fight that must be faced directly. The country deserves leadership that prioritizes the people over personal gains.”
Pakistan’s Regional Role
Touching on national security, Vawda praised Pakistan’s military and law enforcement for their sacrifices. “Our soldiers have paid the ultimate price, and Pakistan is now positioned for a prominent role in the region. The world is recognizing the contributions of our security forces,” he remarked.
He noted that international focus has shifted to Pakistan’s strategic significance, rather than Khan’s political troubles. “The global narrative is now turning in Pakistan’s favor. External pressures are no longer influencing us as before,” he added.
Vawda’s Personal Commitment
Despite his criticism, Vawda expressed a personal commitment to Khan’s well-being. “If Khan needs help, I’ll be the first to assist him. Even if it’s something as small as bringing him a glass of water, I’ll be there,” he concluded.
With internal challenges and external scrutiny mounting, Imran Khan’s political journey remains fraught with uncertainty.
