As Ramadan approaches its final stretch, Karachi’s weather is expected to heat up. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the city will experience rising temperatures, particularly from March 20 onward, as the last 10 days of Ramadan coincide with an increase in heat intensity.
Weather Outlook for Karachi
PMD Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz explained that the weather during the early days of Ramadan will remain relatively mild. While daytime temperatures will be higher, sea breezes will help keep the nights more comfortable. However, as the month progresses, the heat will intensify.
The meteorologist also noted that there could be a slight dip in temperatures during the night on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the mercury possibly dropping to 10-12°C due to a cold wave. The forecast suggests cool and dry weather for the next 24 hours, with temperatures expected to range between 11°C and 13°C. The minimum temperature on Monday was recorded at 13.5°C.

Winds and Humidity in Karachi
In terms of wind conditions, the current wind speed is recorded at 7 kilometers per hour coming from the north. Humidity levels stand at 32%, which is relatively low for the city. This combination of mild winds and low humidity is helping maintain a more comfortable atmosphere, especially in the evenings.
Conditions in Other Cities
While Karachi experiences relatively pleasant conditions for now, the weather in other parts of Pakistan shows a different pattern. Peshawar, for instance, is facing cool and dry weather, with temperatures dropping to 6°C and 64% humidity. The air quality index in Peshawar was reported at a concerning 260, highlighting pollution issues in the city.
In Balochistan, the weather is more extreme. The Met Office forecasts strong winds, light rain, and snowfall in several regions, including Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, and Zhob. The northern districts of Balochistan, particularly, are expected to experience extremely cold temperatures. In addition, Noshki, Chaghi, Gwadar, Turbat, and Panjgur are likely to see light rain over the next few days.
Forecast for the Week
As the week progresses, the PMD predicts cool and dry weather for the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This will be a welcome change for the region, where temperatures have dropped significantly, with Peshawar feeling the chill. The mix of light rain and snowfall in the northern areas of Balochistan will bring much-needed moisture to the region.
With Ramadan’s final days approaching, Karachi and other cities in Pakistan are preparing for fluctuating weather conditions. As heat intensifies, residents will need to stay hydrated and adjust their routines accordingly.
