Pakistan, Turkiye Sign 24 Agreements to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Islamabad: Pakistan and Turkiye signed 24 agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and protocols on Thursday to boost cooperation in various sectors.

The signing ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the event. Officials from both countries exchanged the agreements to deepen ties.

Defence and Energy Agreements

Pakistan and Turkiye signed four MoUs to enhance cooperation in the defence sector. Two MoUs and a protocol were signed in the power, energy, and mining sectors. These agreements aim to strengthen collaboration in critical industries.

Trade, Industry, and Water Cooperation

Both countries inked three MoUs to promote trade and industrial cooperation. Two agreements were signed in water management and seed production. These pacts will help improve agricultural development and resource management.

Education and Banking Sectors

Pakistan and Turkiye signed two MoUs in the fields of scientific education and training. The banking sector also saw two MoUs aimed at strengthening financial collaboration.

Religious, Halal Food, and Legal Cooperation

One MoU was signed to enhance cooperation in religious services and religious education. Another agreement focused on promoting halal food standards. Both countries also signed an MoU to improve legal sector collaboration.

Media, Health, and Aerospace Agreements

Pakistan and Turkiye signed an MoU to boost cooperation in media and public relations. Another MoU was inked in the health and pharmaceutical sectors. Both sides also signed an agreement to work together in the aerospace industry.

Cultural and Business Partnerships

Two agreements were signed to enhance cultural cooperation and co-production. The Pakistan-Turkiye Business Forum also exchanged two MoUs to strengthen business ties.

Joint Declaration by Leaders

At the conclusion of the 7th Session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Council, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdogan signed a Joint Declaration. The declaration focuses on deepening, diversifying, and institutionalizing the strategic partnership between both nations.

These agreements mark a significant step in strengthening Pakistan-Turkiye relations. Both countries aim to expand cooperation in multiple sectors for mutual benefit.
