Google Wallet has officially launched in Pakistan, bringing a safer and more convenient digital payment solution to users. As Pakistan’s digital payment landscape continues to grow, this launch aims to simplify transactions, enhance financial inclusion, and support seamless payments for shopping, travel, and daily expenses.
Seamless Payments and Added Convenience
Google Wallet allows users to tap and pay in stores, make quick online purchases, and store essential digital items like boarding passes and loyalty cards. The app is now available for download on the Google Play Store, enabling cardholders from Bank AlFalah, Bank of Punjab, Faysal Bank Noor, HBL, JazzCash, Meezan Bank, and UBL to add their cards and use Google Wallet for payments.
More banks, including Allied Bank, easypaisa Digital Bank, JS Bank, and Zindigi, will soon support the service. Customers can pay online or in-app at partnered merchants such as Onic, Gul Ahmed, Sana Safinaz, J., and KE through PayFast integration with Google Pay.
Simplified Travel with Digital Boarding Passes
Travelers can now store and access boarding passes from Batik Air and Thai Airways directly in Google Wallet. The app also provides real-time updates on flight changes, including departure times and gate modifications, ensuring a hassle-free airport experience. Additionally, users can tap and pay securely while traveling abroad without needing a physical card.

How to Set Up Google Wallet
Setting up Google Wallet is simple:
- Existing Google Account Cards – If a user already has a saved debit or credit card, it will automatically appear in Google Wallet. A few on-screen steps will complete the setup.
- Adding a New Card – Users can tap “Add a card”, accept the issuer’s terms, complete the verification, and start using their card.
- Tokenized Security – Google Wallet generates a unique token for each transaction, ensuring secure payments and protecting user data.
Enhanced Security and Privacy
Google Wallet prioritizes security and privacy, using industry-standard tokenization for safe transactions. Each payment is processed with a device-specific alternate card number and a dynamic security code. Additionally, bank verification and screen lock protection prevent unauthorized access.
A Step Towards Financial Inclusion
Farhan Qureshi, Country Director for Google Pakistan, emphasized that this launch supports financial inclusion and economic growth. He highlighted that Google Wallet will make transactions easier, safer, and more efficient, reinforcing Google’s commitment to Pakistan’s digital future.
Expanding Digital Services in Pakistan
Apart from payments, users can now store event tickets, bus and train passes through services like Bookme.pk and Sastaticket.pk. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for cashless transactions and improves accessibility for users across Pakistan.
With Google Wallet now available, Pakistanis can experience a more seamless and secure way to shop, travel, and pay—all from their smartphones.
