SBP Confirms Fresh Banknote Issuance for Eid

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has reaffirmed that it is issuing fresh banknotes for Eid-ul-Fitr, countering claims that new currency notes are unavailable. The central bank has already distributed Rs. 27 billion in fresh banknotes to 17,000 commercial bank branches across the country. This move ensures the public can access crisp new notes during the festive season.

Fresh Banknotes Distributed Nationwide

As part of its annual tradition, the SBP has provided fresh banknotes of all denominations to commercial banks, leveraging their widespread branch network. These notes are now available for public distribution, making it easier for people to obtain them ahead of Eid celebrations.

ATM Network Ensuring Quality Notes

To further facilitate access to good-quality banknotes, the SBP has directed banks to ensure uninterrupted ATM services. Automated Teller Machines will continue dispensing well-maintained currency notes, ensuring smooth transactions during the busy festive period.

Strict Monitoring to Ensure Fair Distribution

The SBP has deployed Cash Monitoring Teams to conduct on-site inspections at commercial bank branches. These teams oversee the fair and efficient distribution of fresh banknotes, ensuring that the public receives their due share without inconvenience.

The State Bank remains committed to making fresh currency available for Eid celebrations. By utilizing commercial banks and ATMs, the SBP ensures that people across Pakistan can access crisp new banknotes conveniently and without hassle.
