Fresh Notes Distributed to Banks
SBP has already supplied Rs. 27 billion worth of fresh banknotes. These notes have been distributed to 17,000 commercial bank branches nationwide. The banks are responsible for further distributing these notes to the public.
The central bank has also ensured that ATMs remain stocked with good-quality banknotes. The goal is to facilitate smooth cash withdrawals during Eid.
Monitoring Distribution of Banknotes
To ensure proper distribution, SBP has deployed Cash Monitoring teams. These teams are conducting on-site inspections. Their job is to ensure banks provide fresh banknotes to the public as intended.
The SBP reassures the public that fresh banknotes are available. It urges citizens to visit their nearest bank branches to obtain new notes.
