Israel’s ongoing military offensive in Gaza claimed the lives of five more children in an overnight bombing of a residential area in Gaza City. The attack also left at least eight family members trapped under the rubble. Since breaking the ceasefire on Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes have killed nearly 600 Palestinians, marking a dramatic escalation in violence.

Rising Death Toll and Humanitarian Crisis

The Gaza Health Ministry reports that over 49,600 Palestinians have been killed, with 112,950 others wounded since the conflict began.

Israeli Forces Destroy Gaza’s Only Cancer Hospital

On Friday, Israeli forces advanced deeper into Gaza, targeting vital infrastructure. One of the most devastating attacks was on the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, the only specialized cancer treatment center in the region. The destruction of this facility has sparked global outrage, with health professionals calling it a severe blow to Gaza’s fragile healthcare system.

Dr. Zaki Al-Zaqzouq, head of the hospital’s oncology department, expressed disbelief over the attack. “I cannot fathom what could be gained from bombing a hospital that served as a lifeline for cancer patients,” he said.

Food and Medical Supplies Run Dangerously Low

Gaza is facing severe food insecurity, with families depending on community kitchens to survive. However, many, especially children, struggle to find even one meal a day. The blockade on humanitarian aid has also left hospitals overwhelmed and under-equipped to handle the increasing number of casualties.

A local doctor, speaking anonymously for safety reasons, described the deteriorating conditions. “We have almost nothing left to work with, and every day more patients arrive with life-threatening injuries,” he said.

Widespread Destruction and Intensified Military Operations

Israeli military strikes have caused severe damage to homes, roads, and essential services in both Gaza and the northern West Bank. The destruction of water and sanitation facilities has raised serious public health concerns, worsening the already dire situation.

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, stated that military operations would continue “with increasing intensity” until Hamas releases the remaining 59 hostages.

Escalating Conflict as Rockets Fired from Gaza

On Friday, sirens sounded in multiple Israeli cities as rockets were fired from Gaza, further escalating tensions. With both sides locked in escalating attacks, the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen, leaving thousands of civilians in desperate need of aid and protection.
