Israeli Airstrikes Kill 14 in Gaza Amid Renewed Fighting

At least 14 people, including women and children, were killed overnight as Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple locations across Gaza, according to Gaza’s civil defence. The attacks come a week after the collapse of ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas, triggering intensified military operations.
Widespread Strikes Across Gaza
Mahmud Bassal, spokesperson for Gaza’s civil defence, confirmed that over 20 airstrikes hit different areas. A dawn attack in Gaza City’s Zeitun neighborhood killed five people and injured 12 others. In Khan Yunis, a strike claimed nine lives, including a couple and their three children.
The Israeli army acknowledged conducting overnight strikes, describing them as part of anti-terrorist operations. The renewed offensive has heightened fears of further escalation, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence.

Ceasefire Talks Collapse, Violence Surges
Israel resumed heavy air and ground operations after ceasefire negotiations with Hamas stalled. Since March 18, when bombardments restarted, Gaza’s health ministry reported a death toll of 730 people.
On Monday evening, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee warned civilians in northern Gaza, including Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanun, to evacuate, claiming militant groups were launching rockets from these areas. Similar evacuation warnings were issued before previous attacks.
Ongoing Shelling and Retaliation
Gaza’s civil defence reported artillery fire in northern regions and Khan Yunis. Meanwhile, Israel’s military stated that three projectiles were launched from Gaza but were successfully intercepted.
As violence escalates, humanitarian concerns grow. The densely populated enclave continues to suffer massive casualties, destruction, and displacement. With ceasefire efforts stalled, the conflict shows no signs of slowing down.
