Final Moments of Gaza Aid Workers Captured in Shocking PRCS Video

Gaza aid worker killings have come under renewed scrutiny after the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) released harrowing video footage that appears to contradict Israeli military claims about a deadly incident on March 23. The video, recovered from the cellphone of an aid worker who died in the attack, reveals the final minutes of a group of medics as gunfire erupted around clearly marked emergency vehicles.
Graphic Evidence Challenges Israeli Narrative
The six-minute video shows ambulances and a firetruck moving through Rafah at night. All vehicles had emergency lights flashing and headlights on. Automatic gunfire rings out continuously in the background. Moments later, the vehicles stop, and two uniformed medics exit.
The footage, according to PRCS, was found on the phone of Rifat Radwan, one of the 15 humanitarian workers killed. The organization says the video directly disproves the Israeli military’s claim that they fired on “suspicious vehicles” without emergency lighting or identification.

Chaos, Prayers, and Fear
During the recording, a medic can be heard reciting the Islamic declaration of faith, the shahada, a prayer Muslims recite when facing death. His voice shakes as he prays, asks for forgiveness from his mother, and pleads with God to accept his martyrdom. We’re not responsible — you are responsible.” The speaker’s identity and the context remain unclear.
Attack Leaves 15 Humanitarian Workers Dead
The March 23 attack killed eight Red Crescent workers, six members of Gaza’s Civil Defence, and one UN employee. Their bodies were later found buried near Rafah in what the UN described as a mass grave. The PRCS said the aid convoy had responded to emergency calls from civilians trapped under Israeli bombardment.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Israeli forces first targeted the initial rescue team at dawn. Later that day, additional rescue teams searching for the missing medics were also struck.
International Outrage and Legal Concerns
The incident triggered widespread condemnation. Volker Turk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, labeled the attack “appalling” and said it raised serious concerns about potential war crimes. He addressed the UN Security Council, stating that the killings fit a disturbing pattern of attacks on humanitarian personnel.
A Call for Accountability
Hamas called the video a “damning piece of evidence” and accused Israel of a deliberate attempt to hide the crime by burying the victims in mass graves. The PRCS echoed that sentiment, saying the footage “exposes the truth and dismantles this false narrative.”
As the world watches, pressure mounts for a transparent investigation into the deaths of aid workers who risked their lives to save others.
