In a significant breakthrough in ongoing counterterrorism operations, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police have traced the network responsible for recent deadly attacks in Akora Khattak and Bannu Cantonment. Inspector-General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed announced the progress during a press briefing on Sunday, stating that investigators have secured substantial evidence against those involved.
Network Exposed, Arrests Made
IG Hameed revealed that several suspects have already been taken into custody in connection with the attacks. He stressed that while vital leads have been uncovered, full details will only be shared after investigations are complete to avoid tipping off others who may still be at large.
“The network behind these heinous acts has been identified,” said Hameed. “But at this stage, revealing more could alert others involved and derail our progress.”

Details of the Attacks
The twin attacks sent shockwaves across the province. In Akora Khattak, a suicide blast at the renowned Darul Uloom Haqqania claimed the lives of senior Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) leader Maulana Hamid ul-Haq and five others.

IG Hameed credited the recent decline in terrorist activities to proactive policing strategies across the province.
“We’re not just reacting—we’re staying ahead of the threat,” said Hameed.
