Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a strong warning to India, making it clear that any attempt to disrupt Pakistan’s water supply under the Indus Waters Treaty will face a decisive response. Speaking on national security, Sharif stressed that water is the lifeline for 240 million Pakistanis and vowed to defend it at all costs.

Defending Kashmir and Water Rights

Addressing the growing tension, PM Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Calling Kashmir the “jugular vein of Pakistan,” he emphasized that the nation’s commitment to the Kashmiri cause remains firm.

Sharif warned India that tampering with Pakistan’s water supply would not be tolerated. “Any attempt to block our water will be met with full force and might,” he declared, reinforcing the strategic importance of protecting Pakistan’s lifelines.

Call for Impartial Investigation into Pahalgam Incident

Touching on recent accusations from India regarding the Pahalgam incident, However Sharif criticized the baseless allegations made without evidence. He reiterated Pakistan’s offer to participate in an impartial, transparent, and credible investigation to uncover the truth.

On regional security, However PM Sharif expressed Pakistan’s desire for stable and peaceful relations with Afghanistan. He urged the Afghan authorities to ensure their land is not used by elements like Fitna Al-Khawarij to launch attacks across the border.

Sharif pointed out that Pakistan has consistently condemned terrorism in all forms and has paid a heavy price in lives and economic losses in the fight against terror.

Economic Recovery and Foreign Investment

Moving to economic matters, Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing recovery and increasing attractiveness to foreign investors. He identified key sectors such as mining, energy, agriculture, information technology, livestock, and defense production as areas drawing international interest.
