Israeli Airstrike Kills Six Palestinians at Gaza Clinic, Strikes Continue Across Central Strip

GAZA CITY – In a deadly escalation, an Israeli airstrike struck a room inside the al-Rimal clinic in the heart of Gaza City on Monday morning, killing at least six Palestinians and injuring 15 others. According to local medical sources, the targeted room was housing a displaced family and the strike came without any prior warning.
The injured were rushed to nearby al-Ahli Hospital, which is already overwhelmed and lies dangerously close to the red zone designated by the Israeli military. Civil defense teams said they faced extreme difficulty reaching the site due to the rubble and ongoing risk of follow-up strikes.
“This was not a military site, it was a room in a clinic filled with people seeking shelter,” said a medic who assisted in the evacuation. “We pulled children and women from the debris.”
Israeli Strikes Intensify in Central Gaza
Elsewhere in the besieged Gaza Strip, Israeli airstrikes intensified, particularly in the central region. A residential building in the al-Nuseirat area was bombed, while two homes in the al-Bureij refugee camp were completely leveled.
In al-Bureij, three Palestinians were confirmed killed, and multiple others, including children, were injured. The full extent of casualties is still being assessed as rescue workers comb through the debris.
The latest strikes come amid what locals describe as a relentless assault on civilian infrastructure, displacing thousands and leaving entire neighborhoods in ruins.
Residents in central Gaza say the bombardments have become “unpredictable and unannounced,” leading to widespread fear and confusion. “There’s no safe zone left,” said a displaced father now living in a makeshift tent near Deir al-Balah.
GHF Resumes Food Aid Despite Attacks
Despite the chaos, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) announced it has resumed food distribution operations after a brief suspension on Sunday. The organization halted aid at four of its sites following an attack that injured two US contractors.
“All we know from yesterday was that operations were suspended,” reported Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud from Gaza City. “And now, all of a sudden, there’s a statement that services have resumed – but most people here don’t have internet to even see that.”
Mahmoud emphasized the disconnect between aid organizations’ online updates and the realities on the ground, where electricity and mobile networks are virtually nonexistent.
At least 750 Palestinians have reportedly been killed in or around aid distribution sites since May 27, raising serious questions about the targeting of areas meant to provide humanitarian relief.
Mounting Civilian Toll and Humanitarian Breakdown
With attacks on medical centers, refugee camps, and aid sites increasing, Gaza’s humanitarian crisis has deepened. Civil society groups are urging immediate international intervention to prevent further mass casualties.
The targeting of al-Rimal clinic marks another grim milestone in a war that has increasingly engulfed civilians and critical infrastructure. Human rights organizations have called for independent investigations into potential violations of international law.
Local officials warn that with each passing day, hospitals, food warehouses, and water systems are becoming deliberate targets. “There’s no justification for this scale of destruction,” said a spokesperson for the Gaza Health Ministry. “Gaza is being dismantled one strike at a time.”
