Sharjeel Memon Announces Electric Buses in Karachi
Sindh Government has announced something exciting for the people of Karachi. Sindh’s information minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon shared this news on his Twitter account.
He announced the start of Pakistan’s first electric bus service in Karachi.
Alhamdulillah by the the Grace of Almighty Allah, Transport department Government of Sindh is going to start the first route of Pakistan’s first electric bus service for the people of Karachi. Giving the details about the bus service and when it will be available for the people of Karachi, he said, “The people of Karachi will be able to avail the bus service from today.”
He further said, “This service will start from Tank Chowk Malir Cantt to Clock Tower Roundabout, Sea View Defence using Khayaban e Ittihad,” he said, adding that airport passengers can also avail of this service.”

Also, he shared a video on Twitter in which he can be seen riding the first electric bus in Karachi.
In addition, these electric buses are environmentally friendly because they work on solar energy and are charged by solar energy, according to Sindh Mass Transit Authority.
Recently, the Sindh government also passed approval for buying 43 more buses for the People’s Bus Service in Karachi. Moreover, they also announced the launch of blue and pink taxis in which pink taxis are for women drivers.
