Heart-Shaped Croatian Island for Sale, an Ideal Valentine’s Gift

The unique heart-shaped Adriatic islet, known as the Island of Love, in Croatia is up for sale. Part of the uninhabited islet of Galesnjak in the Pasman channel is being offered to prospective buyers for development.

This is one of the most recognizable Croatian islets and attracts over a million photos every year, according to Silvestro Kardum, a representative for the owner of the land offered for sale.

Despite the lack of hotels, villas, or restaurants on the islet, many celebrities, including Beyonce, Michael Jordan, and Jeff Bezos, frequently visit Galesnjak every summer.

The proceeds from the sale will be invested in the local community, with the island having an area of 142,000 square meters, with slightly over 40,000 square meters available for sale for the price of 13 million euros.

Kardum stated that potential buyers are calling every day.

In 2019, scientists from the Department of Archaeology of Croatia’s University of Zadar discovered traces of human habitation on the islet dating back 7,000 years ago.

This heart-shaped island, surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, has been a popular tourist destination for many years and could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a buyer to own a piece of Croatian history.
