WOW Festival Returns to Karachi
British Council Pakistan is organizing the sixth edition of the Women of the World Festival (WOW) in Karachi on March 4 and 5, 2023, in collaboration with the ACDAI Pakistan and the Alif Noon Media.
After two virtual editions in 2021 and 2022, this will be the first physical edition of the WOW Festival in three years.
This year’s program is expected to be the most diverse and spectacular among all the previous editions of the festival, featuring animated panels, workshops, captivating performances, colorful markets, and even shows for children.
The festival will also showcase art exhibitions, drum circles, art installations, and film screenings.
The WOW Foundation is sponsoring the festival, and the theme for this year’s event is “Rall Mil,” which is a Pashto word meaning to come together.
The theme is based on the idea of strengthening and building better and robust relationships, seeking happiness, and combating the effects of climate change.
Last year, floods caused massive destruction in Pakistan, and many areas are still submerged in water months later.
The WOW Festival is expected to bring positivity to society by addressing social issues and providing a platform to showcase women’s achievements and empowerment.
