ICU Nurse gets first COVID vaccine

Nurse Sandra Lindsay becomes the first person who is inoculated with the corona vaccine in New York.

Sandra Lindsay who is a critical care nurse in NEW York becomes the first person to get coronavirus vaccine Authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

The event took place in Queens on Monday morning during a live video.

After getting a shot of the COVID-19 vaccine she described the experience as “a good touch” as “it didn’t feel any different than taking any other vaccine”.

In an interview, the nurse told CNN that she is feeling she has no fear and feels “great”.

Lindsay and Chester, both Black women, were joined on stage by Michael Dowling, President, and CEO of Northwell Health, who noted that over 100,000 Covid-19 patients had been seen in the regional hospital system.

The quickly organized media conference, which took place only a few hours after the vaccinations arrived in New York City at dawn. The entire event was televised live on CNN and other social media sites.

Ms. Lindsay also mentioned her concerns over getting infected with coronavirus as she said, “I trust the science. My profession is deeply rooted in science. I trust science. What I don’t trust is getting Covid-19, because I don’t know how it will affect me and the people around me that I could potentially transfer the virus to.”

This Coronavirus shot manifests a defining moment in history and serves as a symbol of scientific speed and accuracy.

The recipient of the vaccine also mentioned that she wants to “inspire” people and encourage them to get vaccinated. 

Earlier this month, after the government’s approval in the UK, people received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and Lindsay is one of the first people to get a covid vaccine approved by the FDA for use by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) gave the green signal to administer among people who are 16 and older.
