Police arrested Pakistani TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, known as Nadeem Nani Wala, for using a fake number plate on his vehicle. Authorities confirmed this on Monday. Officers took Nadeem into custody during a routine check near Main Boulevard Defence in Lahore.
The SHO of Defence, Lahore, reported that Nadeem Nani Wala’s vehicle displayed a counterfeit number plate labeled “IK 804.” Police immediately apprehended him at the scene. After the arrest, Defence Police impounded the vehicle and registered a case against Nadeem for using an illegal number plate.
They seized the car, labeled “804,” and lodged an official complaint. Police warned that strict action would follow for anyone using fake number plates.
In a related move, SP Headquarters Ahmad Zunair Cheema issued a new directive, banning police officers from making or sharing TikTok content while in uniform. The order, released on Monday, states that any officer caught making TikTok videos while on duty will face serious departmental consequences.
The policy emphasizes that no police personnel, whether male or female, can tarnish the department’s image by creating social media content in uniform. Officers must also delete any existing TikTok accounts or videos. This crackdown seeks to protect the department’s reputation.
SP Cheema emphasized the need for professionalism. He stated, “We must maintain the integrity of the force, and officers should reflect this in every aspect of their duties.” This directive directly addresses growing concerns about how social media content might negatively affect the public’s perception of the police.

The dangers related to TikTok go beyond the police force. On September 12, a tragic incident occurred in Liaquatabad, where a young man involved with TikTok lost his life. Police reported that someone shot the victim, Ahmed, in the eye while he stood outside his home. Authorities are investigating whether TikTok challenges or stunts played a role in the incident.
The rising influence of TikTok, especially among the youth, has prompted authorities to take action. With cases of accidents, injuries, and even deaths linked to the platform, there are growing calls for regulation.
The new rules prohibiting TikTok use by police officers reflect the department’s effort to maintain a professional image. This policy shift is part of broader measures to ensure that officers uphold the highest standards of conduct, both offline and online.
As TikTok continues to grow in popularity, the authorities are taking steps to prevent any further misuse of the platform, especially by public officials. The police force is determined to keep its reputation intact while addressing these new social media challenges.
