The federal cabinet has approved the Hajj policy for the upcoming pilgrimage year, as revealed in a circulation summary on Thursday. Sources informed that the cost of the official package for the Holy Pilgrimage is estimated to be between Rs10,75,000 and Rs11,75,000.
According to insider information, approximately 179,000 pilgrims from Pakistan will be permitted to perform Hajj next year. The Hajj Policy 2025 outlines the quota distribution for various sectors. Each the government and private operators will receive a quota of 89,605 pilgrims. Additionally, about 1,000 slots are reserved for the labor sector, while around 300 spots are allocated for low-income workers registered under the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI).

Pilgrimage Period
The pilgrimage period will also see a significant change in duration. The long Hajj will span from 38 to 42 days, while the short Hajj will last between 20 to 25 days. Notably, children under the age of 12 will not be allowed to travel for the pilgrimage.
In terms of logistics, the Road to Makkah facility will be made available at airports in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. Furthermore, women who do not have a mehram (male guardian) will be permitted to perform Hajj under conditions set forth by the Islamic Ideological Council.
