Iran has conveyed a warning after Israel launched cyberattack on iran’s nuclear facilities . The message reportedly addressed Iran’s potential response to any future Israeli attacks. Iranian Government Hit by Cyberattacks
According to Iran International, three branches of Iran’s government were targeted by cyberattacks. These attacks hit the judiciary, legislative, and executive branches. Ali Firouzabadi, former secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Cyberspace, confirmed the attacks. He said information was stolen from these branches.
Firouzabadi also mentioned that nuclear facilities and other networks, such as fuel distribution, municipal, transportation, and port systems, were also attacked. “These are just part of a long list of various areas across the country that have been attacked,” he said.
Aviation Restrictions in Iran
Following these cyberattacks, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization announced new security measures. A ban on bringing pagers, walkie-talkies, and similar electronic communication devices into airplane cabins or checked luggage was imposed. The only exception to this ban is mobile phones.
Local media reported that airlines in the region, including Emirates, had already implemented similar restrictions. These measures follow a recent explosion in Lebanon linked to Hezbollah’s communication devices, which included pagers and walkie-talkies.
U.S. Sanctions in Response to Iran-Israel Tensions
On Friday, the United States imposed new sanctions on Iran’s oil and petrochemical sectors. These sanctions came as a response to Iran’s missile attack on Israel, which took place on October 1.
The sanctions target Iran’s so-called “ghost fleet,” a network of ships and associated companies involved in smuggling Iranian oil. These ships and firms span multiple jurisdictions, including the United Arab Emirates, Liberia, and Hong Kong. The fleet reportedly transports oil to buyers in Asia, despite international sanctions.
These developments add further tension to the already volatile relationship between Iran and Israel. The cyberattacks, aviation restrictions, and U.S. sanctions illustrate the increasing complexities in the ongoing conflict.
