Lahore and Tashkent Direct Flights to Begin Next Month

ISLAMABAD: Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtayev, announced direct flights between Lahore and Tashkent will begin next month. This announcement came during his meeting with Senator Irfanul Haque Siddiqui, chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, in Islamabad.

Firstly, Senator Siddiqui warmly welcomed the newly appointed ambassador. He extended best wishes for his diplomatic role in Pakistan. Furthermore, he expressed hope that the air route would deepen Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations.

Additionally, Ambassador Tukhtayev shared plans to expand flights to other major Pakistani cities. He explained that this initiative aims to enhance connectivity, trade, and tourism between the two nations. Therefore, both leaders agreed that people-to-people exchanges would be greatly facilitated.

Senator Siddiqui applauded the Lahore-Tashkent flight route as a major step forward. He emphasized that increased connectivity could unlock new opportunities for trade and culture. “Both countries have untapped potential in these areas,” he added.

Finally, the ambassador invited Senator Siddiqui and Pakistani senators to observe Uzbekistan’s upcoming elections on October 27. Gratefully, Senator Siddiqui accepted, noting the importance of witnessing this democratic process.
