Veteran Actor Firdous Jamal Opens Up About Life Choices and Isolation
Renowned Pakistani actor Firdous Jamal, famous for his roles in classic dramas like Waris, Manchalay Ka Sauda, Sayebaan Seeshey Ka, Anaa, and Pyare Afzal, recently shared his life’s latest journey in an interview with YouTuber Ambreen Fatima. After a challenging battle with cancer, which he was diagnosed with in December 2022, Jamal emerged with a new perspective on life. Despite his recovery, he made a life-changing decision to live in isolation, away from his family.
“I have left my family after I recovered from the cancer because I didn’t want my family to suffer because of me,” Jamal revealed. He explained that sometimes people, even unknowingly, can become the reason for others’ pain, and he wanted to prevent that for his family. He added that his children are now independent and doing well, which reassured him in his choice.
Family’s Response to His Decision
Reflecting on his family’s reaction, Jamal shared that he believes his absence has brought them a sense of peace. He expressed that he has always been inclined toward solitude and did not wish to create difficulties for others.
“I think my family is quite peaceful without me. I have always been quite fond of isolation, and now I don’t want to create hurdles for others just because of myself,” he explained.
Standing Firm on Industry Opinions and Faith
Jamal also discussed his longstanding ban from Hum TV, imposed after he made controversial remarks about the acting industry. Despite this setback, the actor remains resolute in his beliefs. “Hum TV or any other person is not the provider and sustainer of mankind. Allah gives Rizq to humans, and I have gotten a lot of work, success, and respect,” he said, emphasizing his faith in divine sustenance.
Sticking to His Views on Acting
While Jamal’s opinions have sometimes sparked controversy, he remains committed to his views on acting and the industry. He believes in speaking his mind, even if it brings criticism. “I stand by my opinions regarding actors because I said what I felt.” He continued that “I didn’t hide my feelings; my kids or others may have their own opinions. I can only talk on my behalf, and I don’t have a habit of hiding my feelings or thoughts.”
Through his journey, Jamal’s faith and convictions remain strong. In his words, his choices reflect a personal responsibility to others and a commitment to living according to his values, even if it means embracing solitude.
