Karachi: The Sindh cabinet has undergone a major reshuffle as Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah made changes to several portfolios and announced new appointments. Three advisors and ten special assistants have been added to the provincial government team.
The Sindh government issued a notification late Friday, detailing the reshuffle. Mukesh Chawla has been appointed Minister for Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control. He takes over from Sharjeel Inam Memon, who retains his roles as Minister of Information and Transport and Mass Transit.
Mohammad Ali Malkani, previously handling Boards and Universities, is now the Minister for Fisheries and Livestock. He also retains the Katchi Abadis portfolio.
Saeed Ghani will continue as Minister for Local Government and Housing Town Planning, while Jam Khan Shoro retains the Irrigation portfolio.
Prominent Appointments
Senior PPP leader Allah Dino Bhayo, also known as Babal Khan Bhayo, has rejoined the cabinet as an advisor. He has been assigned the Forests and Wildlife portfolio. Bhayo had resigned earlier this year following allegations of arms smuggling but has now been reinstated.
Special Assistants Announced
Ten special assistants have been given key roles. Saleem Baloch will oversee Public Health Engineering & Rural Development, while Abdul Jabbar Khan has been assigned the Food portfolio. Lal Chand Ukrani will manage Minority Affairs.
Usman Hingoro takes over the Bureau of Supply and Prices from Mohammad Bux Mahar, who continues with Agriculture, Sports, and Anti-Corruption portfolios.
Govt Keeps Fuel Prices Unchanged
Qasim Shah will handle Public-Private Partnerships and Investment, while Sarfaraz Rajar has been given Social Protection.
Other Key Assignments
Waqar Mehdi, PPP’s provincial general secretary, has been appointed to lead the Chief Minister’s Inspections, Enquiries, and Implementation Team (CMIE&IT). Rajvir Singh will focus on Human Rights, Mansoor Shahani on Student Affairs, and Junaid Buland on the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA).
Dost Ali Rahimoon, previously a minister for Environment, Climate Change, and Coastal Development, has been reassigned as an advisor with the same portfolio.
