Nargis Fakhri Not In Touch With Sister Charged in Murder Case for Over 20 Years
Actor Nargis Fakhri, known for her role in Rockstar, has reportedly been out of contact with her sister, Aliya Fakhri, for over two decades. Aliya has recently been arrested and charged with the alleged double murder of her former boyfriend and his friend in New York. Nargis has not yet issued an official statement regarding the charges against her sister.
The Alleged Crime
The tragic events unfolded on Monday in Queens, New York. Aliya Fakhri is accused of setting fire to a two-story garage where her former boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, 35, and his friend Anastasia Ettienne were sleeping. According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, Aliya shouted, “You’re all going to die today,” before starting the blaze. Ettienne, alerted by the fire, attempted to wake Jacobs, but by then, the fire had consumed the entire structure. Both victims died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
A witness reportedly heard Aliya’s voice and discovered the building was on fire. Aliya has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and arson. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Background of the Incident
The crime appears to be linked to a personal dispute. Jacobs and Aliya Fakhri had broken up a year prior, and according to Jacobs’ mother, Janet, Aliya struggled to accept the end of their relationship. The witness in the case described Aliya and Jacobs’ relationship as abusive, adding that Aliya had previously threatened to burn down his house.
Family’s Reaction
Despite the gravity of the charges, Aliya’s mother has denied her involvement in the murders. She expressed disbelief, saying that her daughter was a kind person who cared for others. “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She tried to help everybody,” she said in an interview with the media.
Aliya’s next court appearance is scheduled for December 9. Meanwhile, her sister Nargis Fakhri, who has not been in touch with Aliya for years, has yet to address the situation publicly. The lack of communication between the two sisters adds another layer of intrigue to the case.
