Concerns Raised in the National Assembly

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Power recently discussed the determination of lifeline and protected consumers. PTI MNA Sher Ali Arbab expressed concern over the absence of NEPRA Chairman Waseem Mukhtar, noting that a junior officer represented the authority instead.

The Power Division’s Secretary clarified that the committee had not summoned the chairman but had received all necessary information. He added that the committee could invite the NEPRA chairman in the next session if needed.

PPP’s Khursheed Junejo emphasized that the chairman’s absence was significant, considering the importance of IPP-related issues discussed.
