KARACHI: A US woman, Onya Andrew, created a scene at Karachi Airport after refusing to leave Pakistan following a failed love affair, news reported on Wednesday.
According to airport sources, Onya Andrew initially refused to go through immigration and later declined to board her flight. She repeatedly delayed her departure, making various excuses. Airport police and security forces took her into protective custody and escorted her to the departure lounge, but she still refused to board the plane, causing a 36-minute flight delay.

Reports revealed that Onya Andrew Robbins, a mother of two, had traveled to Karachi on October 11 after falling in love with 19-year-old Nadal Meman, a resident of Karachi’s Garden area. Their relationship began on social media, and Nadal initially agreed to marry her. However, his family rejected the idea, leading to the collapse of their plans.
Visa Expiry and Deportation
After spending months in Karachi, Onya Andrew’s return ticket expired. With her visit visa also expired, she was handed over to airport police by the Airport Security Force (ASF) while attempting to leave Karachi.
An NGO provided her with a return ticket and financial assistance. Additionally, she received medical treatment at the airport’s emergency clinic for cold and flu symptoms before her departure.
