Kanye West Defends Diddy, Sparks Controversy with Antisemitic Rant
West Praises Hitler and Defends Diddy
Kanye West defended Sean “Diddy” Combs and made antisemitic comments in a slur-filled rant on X on Thursday, Feb. 6.
West, 47, insisted that discussing antisemitic leaders should be normalized. He also posted that he would “never apologize” for his past hateful remarks. In the same post, West demanded the release of Diddy, who remains in jail on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Diddy, 55, was indicted in September 2024 and has pleaded not guilty. His trial is set to begin in May 2025. A judge denied him bail due to the seriousness of the allegations.
West Mocks Elon Musk
West also criticized X owner Elon Musk, claiming Musk stole his “Nazi swag” after making a one-armed salute at an event. Musk dismissed the accusation, saying the “everyone is Hitler” attack is overused.
The rapper also defended his wife Bianca Censori’s bold outfit at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Censori, 30, wore a sheer, nearly-nude mini dress at the event. West attended the Grammys for the first time in 10 years and was nominated for Best Rap Song for “Carnival” from his Vultures 1 album.
West walked the red carpet, posed for photos, and then left the event. Despite rumors, PEOPLE confirmed that security did not remove him or Censori from the venue.
West’s rant came just days after he announced his new album Bully, which he claims is inspired by his 9-year-old son, Saint.
Despite the backlash, West continues to promote his music while making controversial statements online.
West’s latest posts add to his long history of hate speech. In October 2022, he posted on X that he planned to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE”.
Following his remarks, major brands cut ties with him. Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap terminated their contracts, causing West to lose millions in revenue.
Adidas released a statement, saying their company “does not tolerate antisemitism or any form of hate speech.” The sportswear brand called West’s comments “unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous.”
Adidas confirmed it had ended production of all Yeezy-branded products and stopped payments to West and his companies.
Despite his financial and public fallout, West continues to make inflammatory remarks, fueling further controversy.
