Karachi: The Sindh School Education Department has announced a revised schedule for Matric and Intermediate exams due to Ramadan.
According to the new schedule, 9th and 10th-grade exams will now take place from April 7 to April 25, following Eid-ul-Fitr. The practical exams for Matric students will begin on March 10 across schools in Sindh, including Karachi.
Earlier, the Matric exams were set to start on March 15, but the date was revised to accommodate students observing Ramadan. Similarly, Intermediate (1st and 2nd-year) exams, initially planned for April 15, will now begin on April 28.
The Steering Committee’s sub-committee finalized this decision to ensure a smoother examination process and reduce difficulties for students during the holy month. The revised schedule has been communicated to all educational institutions, and students are advised to prepare accordingly.

Punjab Revises School Timings for Ramadan
Meanwhile, the Punjab Education Department has issued a notification regarding new school timings during Ramadan.
- Double-shift schools will operate from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm for the first shift.
- The second shift will run from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
- On Fridays, the schedule will be 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
The revised timings aim to accommodate students and staff while ensuring that educational activities continue smoothly throughout Ramadan.
